Hello, been a while since my last journo.
I learned some pretty neat stuff over the last week, a technique called reverse lens for taking closeup pictures. Been trying out some shots, and it just amazes me how much detail you can get with this. Should be posting some pictures soon and hopefully I might make a tutorial, specifically with some relevance to my D90 since most of the tutorials I read dealt with Canon Rebel cams. Each time I have a trial of taking pics, I learn something new and I get closer and closer, but now I think I've maxed out. Really fun stuff to experiment with! All you guys with SLRs should give it a try.
Secondly, I had a presentation to give about Delft, Netherlands. That place is seriously underrated. Hoping to make a news article about all the pictures I've collected so far.
All this when my laptop comes back. Had to send it in for repairs. Haha, not surprised, given the fact that its fallen from my bunkbed twice!
Also, I got a wireless shutter remote that could give me hours of straight exposure. So want to catch some star trails, but my camera failed me in the cold gah. Gotta keep trying..
I've come across some good music lately. A quick shout out to Slowdive, Apparat, Aphex Twin and Blonde Redhead. Good stuff.

Black and White Sparks
Monochrome seems to be catching my eye a lot lately. Colours bore me.
Citizen Sky
So school's over, and I'm leaving Dubai to head out to Purdue University. Probably the only few things I'll miss about the place are the beaches, shwarmas, and the 4 a.m. prayers. I definitely won't miss the heat and humidity which drapes my lenses in dew! :@
Anyway, thanks to my readership at UniverseToday.com, I came across Citizen Sky, a big endeavor to study the approximately 2-year eclipse (which begins this August) of the variable star Epsilon Aurigae.
This hunk of fiery stellar gas, with its irregular variability, is a big mystery apparently, and since eclipses happen every 27 years or so, observational data trickles in at a very sl
Them 90's
I always maintain that the decline of music started in the 90s. Music was far superior in the 60s/70s and even up until the 80s. But since I'm not a fan of stereotyping, I've decided to compile a list of my favourite songs from my decade. (At least it's much easier to do that than with any other decade haha)
1990
Queensrÿche - Silent Lucidity
Scorpions - Wind of Change
Slaughter - Fly to the Angels
Bad Company - If You Needed Somebody
Winger - Miles Away
1991:
Guns n' Roses - November Rain
Metallica - Nothing Else Matters
Bryan Adams - Can't Stop This Thing We've Started
U2 - One
REM - Losing My Religion
1992:
Blind Melon -
New Camera + Eyepiece !!
Yeap. Today is the beginning of a new era. I finally got my Nikon D90! Along with a Nikkor 70-300mm lens, its not a very good one but what the hell, at least I got my own camera now! (Still haven't received my 18-55mm yet)
It's great! The clarity and everything, I can take pictures at ISO 800 and still have minimal noise.
I got a new Orion Expanse 6mm eyepiece for my telescope too. It cranks my current maximum mag. from 70x to ~117x. It's breathtaking really.
I got a week trip to Mumbai too, gonna have some fun with my D90..
Also got a lunar research project on my hands. 4 of us from the Dubai Astronomy Group, we're going to create a big

You might want to consider buying/ getting a BR-2A reversal ring for your reversed lens shots. Less risk of dropping your objective lens, and you add a little bit of stability.
I've shot all my macros that way
